NO DOUBT, the world is flushed with both toxic and non-toxic waste. If you have already been hammered by the words like ‘Global Warming’ or Air Pollution then you know what I am talking about. I even heard that there is a huge debris floating in the pacific ocean with the size equal to 3 times Texas.
When you constantly hear all these horrible news about continued environmental deterioration, I make sure to pay my share by regularly recycling garbage. Rome has gone a step ahead with a very novel idea. In Rome you can now purchase the train ticket using empty plastic bottles. Very viral and amazing concept by the local government to encourage people recycle more. (I really marvel from where the government gets such novel ideas). Happy that we don’t have Amtrack running throughout our country, else I would be seen carrying a bag full of bottles before going anywhere out.
Recycle your way to free transit passes. Great idea for the #Environment. This concept shouldn't be restricted to 'when in Rome'. Rather it should be adopted world wide for the sake of our planet. pic.twitter.com/exUzddI2DE

Looking at the success of this pilot program, I am sure other European countries will soon join this trend. So if visiting Rome is on your agenda, better start collecting plastic bottles. May be think of carrying couple of extra check-in bags full of plastic bottles. If you already have sufficient number of plastic bottles, you can take off the local commute expenses off of you travel spending.
For those who are still thinking on how to collect plastic bottles for your upcoming trip to Rome, here is an idea. Head over to Amazon and buy Soda or Water bottles. Pour the liquid and keep empty bottles for buying train tickets in Rome.
