Because of this, he starts a progressive reduction of food intake, excluding especially food that contains high caloric value. The anorexic person may also purge himself (either by forcing vomit or taking laxatives and diuretics) or do excessive physical exercise with the purpose of losing weight.

Person suffering from Anorexia Noervosa are often seen too much worrying about personal appearance and body shape. In the quest of maintaining the overall shape the person usually resort to excessive exercises and starvation. Controlled diet is always good, however, in this case the patient is often found to be skipping the meal just to look slim.
In women, this disorder may cause amenorrhea (missing of at least three consecutive menstrual periods).
Generally, individuals suffering from this disorder are not fully aware of the problem, they deny it and justify their loss of weight with irrational arguments.
Anorexia Noervosa can be result of chronic illnesses and medication side effects? In one case a man 5’11 tall but only weigh 117 pounds. The lowest reading was observed was 115 lbs which is equal to a teenage boy. Furthermore, he also found it difficult to gain weight. A medical treatment was necessary in order for him to gain weight to maintain appropriate mass and weight balance (BMI).
